I have twenty-three years of experience in the design, development, and implementation of instruction to adult and high school learners. My background contains a proven track record of teaching excellence, as well as developing, designing, and delivering engaging and effective learning solutions for a wide range of learners.  I possess a thorough understanding of the requirements and challenges inherent with online learners, as well as the communication skills needed to work with Subject Matter Experts to analyze learning problems, determine appropriate performance goals and design, deliver and implement appropriate instructional strategies to produce desired learning outcomes.

My experience as faculty includes developing and teaching fully online courses, online enhanced courses, and seated courses.  I am proficient in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Articulate Storyline. I have extensive experience teaching online learners of diverse age, socio-economic, and educational background.  I am proficient at applying Universal Design Theory and WCAG 2.0 Accessibility Guidelines to ensure all learners have equitable and reasonable access to high-quality e-learning solutions.

In addition to my educational background, I have volunteered with non-profit groups.  I have not only been a coach for a Middle School Science Olympiad team and a High School Robotics team, but I have maintained the webpage for each group and developed a safety training module for the robotics team.  These experiences have given me further experience working with subject matter experts (team mentors) to determine specific learning and performance goals and collaboratively translate content matter into appropriate learning solutions.

I have a B.S. in Science Education from UNC-Chapel Hill, a Masters of Arts in Science Teaching from UNC-Chapel Hill, and I will complete my Masters in Science in Instructional Technology from East Carolina University in 2020.

I have been the Lead Instructional Designer at Central Carolina Community College in Sanford, NC for the last two years. I have also been working for North Carolina Virtual Public School as an Instructional Technologist for two years.
